How it works
You don't have to think about any of this — but here's what happens. A small app lives in your system tray (the row of little icons near your clock). Switch it on, and your browsing is routed out through TYO Reach instead of going straight from your home connection. The website you visit sees a visitor from us — and the content that was closed to you opens up.
Switch it off and everything goes back to normal instantly. It only affects your web browser — nothing else on your computer changes.

Your data allowance resets on the 1st of each month, and the tray app always shows how much you've used. When you reach your limit it simply pauses — no surprise charges, ever.
Age verification, handled in Australia
Australian law now requires age verification before people can reach certain kinds of online content. TYO Reach builds this in — and because TYO Lab is an Australian business, that check is done here, by us, rather than handed off to an overseas third party you've never heard of.
We've kept it as light as possible:
- Your first 500 MB is completely free — no card, no verification. It's there so you can install TYO Reach, switch it on, and confirm the connection works for you before anything else is asked of you.
- Past 500 MB, we run a one-time age check. To confirm you're an adult, we take a $1 payment and refund it straight back to you. It isn't a charge for the service — the dollar returns to your account. It's simply how we verify your age, as the law requires.
Once that's done, your Free, Pro or Business allowance applies as normal every month.
A small refundable payment is a simple, privacy-friendly way to confirm you're an adult without us collecting and storing your ID documents. You're charged $1, it's refunded, and the verification stays on your account — you won't be asked again.
