HILIA: Hide Like A Pro
Every business that sells with pictures has felt it: a design proof turns up uncredited on someone else's page, product photos get lifted onto a copycat listing, a quote sent as an image does the rounds. Once an image leaves your hands, you lose the two things that matter — proof it's yours, and control over who sees what travels with it.
HILIA gives you both back. It's two image-privacy tools in one browser tab: watermarking that proves an image is yours — invisibly or visibly — and steganography that hides any file inside an ordinary-looking picture.
Prove a photo is yours
HILIA's covert watermark writes a short ID of your choosing — a client name, an order number — into the fabric of the image, locked to a secret key. To the eye, nothing changes. Months later, when a copy surfaces somewhere it shouldn't, run it through Detect with your key: HILIA tells you whether your mark is present, with a confidence score. Extract recovers the ID itself — which client's proof leaked, which batch the photo came from.
The mark is built to survive what images go through online — re-saving, format conversion, moderate resizing. We're honest about the limits: heavy crops and tiny thumbnails can degrade it, so for rough treatment, embed at higher strength and test your own pipeline first.
Watermark proofs the visible way
Sometimes you want the mark seen. Overlay text or a logo at any size, angle and opacity — a discreet corner credit or the classic diagonal tile across the whole image. This tool runs entirely in your browser: the image never leaves your machine, and it works without an account.
Hide anything inside a picture
Give HILIA a photo and any file — a contract, a spreadsheet, an archive — and it weaves the file into the picture's pixels. The result looks and opens like the same photo; only someone with the passcode gets the file back out. Probe and Capacity tools tell you whether an image is carrying something and how much a given photo can hold.
One honest caveat: platforms that re-compress images on upload destroy hidden data. Send stego images as file attachments and they arrive intact — the docs spell out what's safe.
What it costs
| Operation | Cost |
|---|---|
| Hide, reveal, probe and capacity (steganography) | Free |
| Detecting or extracting a watermark | Free |
| Visible watermark (runs in your browser) | Free — doesn't need an account |
| Embedding a covert watermark or stamp | 1 gas per image, or unlimited with membership |
Checking whether an image carries your mark is always free — you should never have to pay to find out something is yours.
Works where you work
- In your browser — the full tool at hilia.tyo.com.au/app, signed in with the same TYO ID you use across TYO products.
- On your phone — the original Android app does hide-and-reveal on the device.
- In your pipeline — the developer API exposes embed, extract and detect over HTTPS with per-key monthly quotas, so every image you publish can be marked automatically.
Try HILIA now — hiding your first file takes about two minutes, and the documentation covers the rest.
